We're looking for a creative and experienced Part-Time Web Designer to join our team in assisting us with routine site maintenance alongside our existing design team. In this role, you'll assist with maintaining and updating our website, ensuring a seamless user experience and visually appealing design that aligns with the brand. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both web development and design principles and will be able to work collaboratively to complement and support ongoing design efforts, while also handling tasks independently as needed.

Requirements

  • 18 Years of Age or Older
  • CLEAN DRIVING RECORD - Please state if you do not have one
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to Commute to North Haven, CT for work
  • No Felonies - Please state if you have one

    • Bachelors Degree in Design or Computer Science or similar is preferred but not required.
    • Proven experience in web design, with a portfolio or samples of relevant work.
    • Proficiency in using drag-and-drop web builders (e.g., Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or similar platforms).
    • Strong understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and responsive design.
    • Graphic design skills, with the ability to create custom visuals, banners, and marketing materials.
    • Ability to code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for basic web development tasks.
    • Proficient in Graphic Design Software, specifically Photoshop (Illustrator or InDesign is a plus).
    • Experience in creating and uploading banners, managing content, and updating web pages.
    • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design to enhance user experience.
    • Shopify experience is preferred, but not required.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure brand consistency across all web assets.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating each website, ensuring that design and functionality are optimized for user experience.
  • Work alongside the full-time web designer to implement design updates, layout adjustments, and site changes.
  • Create, upload, and manage website banners and other visual assets, ensuring consistency with the brand’s identity.
  • Manage website content, including text, images, and multimedia, to ensure the site is up-to-date and visually appealing.
  • Implement custom projects using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to customize website elements when necessary.
  • Optimize the design and functionality of the site for various devices and screen sizes to ensure responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to integrate promotional materials and other updates into the website.
  • Perform quality checks on website functionality, layout, and design, ensuring the site meets technical and visual standards.
  • Stay up to date with current web design trends and technologies to make recommendations for site improvements.
  • Support the full-time designer by handling delegated design and development tasks to supplement overall web efforts.
